What if the Armenian Diaspora was a travel destination?

My name is Ruben, I’m French Armenian, and for the past ten years, I’ve traveled the world with my backpack discovering our Diaspora.

After visiting a hundred countries, living in some of them, and collecting information from thousands of locals, I decided to publish a travel guide dedicated to the Armenian Diaspora. The book is now available in French and English!

Traveling to discover Armenians around the world sounds exciting but it isn’t always easy. In addition to the printed travel guide, I started imagining a breathing platform that would put local Armenians in contact with visitors hoping to experience the Diaspora. Whether they want to take an excursion through the neighborhood, visit a jewelry workshop, or indulge in delicacies from a famed restaurant, they don’t have to do it alone — a local could be right there with them.

In 2019, Little Armenias was voted the best innovative project at AGBU FOCUS in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Now, with support from the Noubar Nazarian Innovators Fund, the idea of a platform to organize tourism in the Armenian Diaspora is taking on another dimension.

Little Armenias is an invitation to travel — encouragement to seek out all of the little Armenias history and circumstance have created around the world. It’s a tool that allows us to realize the potential of our Diaspora and delve into its complexity, wealth, and legacy. Because today, Armenians from all over the world are more connected with each other than we have ever been at any other point in our history. Why not explore our worlds together? Let’s look out for each other, learn from each other, and build upon this global diaspora!
